Cultural faux pas

Tomorrow is a big day – the interviewing masterclass is happening!
And, it’s Chinese New Year!
🙈 Of course, I should have done a quick search before scheduling my class. With Chinese New Year being the second most celebrated holiday in the world (right after Christmas), it's definitely one I should have taken into consideration and selected a different day.
Apparently, you don't become immune to making cultural missteps, even after decades of working internationally 😳
When things like this happen, I find the best approach is to own up to the mistake and consider how to avoid it in the future. In this case, I've now put a reminder to add the world's most celebrated holidays to my calendar each year.
Considering the number of people who registered for the Masterclass, and the fact that it'll be recorded, I'll still run it tomorrow, Wednesday, and if you're reading this when it has already taken place, you can check out the Mini-Course on Interviewing for UN jobs by clicking here.
And if you celebrate – Happy Lunar New Year!
