Frequently Asked Questions
The mock interview sessions are 1 hour and 10 minutes. This is to ensure we have ample time to run the mock interview itself, provide feedback, explore options, as well as discuss prep and interview strategy, set-up adjustments and answer any questions you might have.
Always:
A realistic mock interview using the format and question style relevant to your upcoming interview (e.g. competency-based, blended, traditional)
Questions tailored to the specific role and organization
Honest, personalized feedback on your delivery, content, and storytelling; as well as your set-up and presence
And depending on your preference, some (or all, time permitting) of:
Strategy discussion: how to approach interviews, what panels are looking for, how to structure your responses, manage nerves, etc.
Setup tips: sound, lighting, camera angles, framing, eye contact, etc., for a professional impression
Your questions — logistical, strategic, or mindset-related
All this to help you grow your interviewing skills and confidence – now and for future opportunities.
I would book it as early as possible and at least 48 hours before your actual interview is scheduled to take place. This is to give yourself time to incorporate and practice what you'll learn through the mock interview.
In a crunch, you will still benefit from doing a mock interview the day before, but I strongly advise against scheduling one for the same day – that might actually backfire!
When you click the button to schedule, a calendar will pop up with all available time slots (check the time zone and change it to yours if needed). Once you've picked the best date and time for you and click "Next", you'll be asked to fill in your personal and payment information (debit/credit card or PayPal) to complete the booking.
Once the process is completed, you will receive a confirmation email where you can add the appointment to your calendar, as well as further instructions on what I'll need from you in order to prepare. You'll receive a separate email with log-in credentials for the bonus mini-course.
The appointment will be automatically scheduled with a link to Google Meet. If your actual interview will be held on a different platform, we can look into the possibility of meeting on that platform instead, as long as it's readily available and at least one of us is able to generate a meeting link for that particular system. Please respond to the confirmation email you receive after booking if you wish to use an alternative platform to Google Meet.
Go through the mini-course! It'll give you a solid foundation and many practical tips to help you show up well-prepared.
Sometimes interview invitations come at a short notice. Here's how to make the most out of limited time:
Review the job description and highlight key competencies.
Research the organization’s/team's mission, values, and context.
Pick 3–5 strong examples from your experience that match the role/competencies.
Practice telling your stories OUT LOUD using STAR or CAR(L).
Reflect on your motivation — Why this role? Why this organization? What difference/contribution do I want to make?
If you only do one thing: focus on practicing, giving clear, structured examples that show what you did and why.
Absolutely. With my background in private-sector staffing, I’m experienced in a range of interview styles across sectors. While non-UN interviews can be less predictable, we’ll use any information you’ve received, and other insights we might have, to craft the best prep approach.
Yes, I can. While formats vary and best practices are still evolving, I’ll help you prepare clear, structured responses suited to the video format. We’ll discuss and practice likely questions based on the role, and focus on tone, presence, and how to engage confidently with the camera lense so that you can make a strong impression, even without a live panel.
Yes — customization is standard. I always tailor the mock interview based on the specific role and organization. To do that, I’ll need the job posting and any interview-related information you’ve received. I also draw on my own experience, client insights, and organizational interview guides to mirror the interview style of the organization as closely as possible.

If you need to reschedule, you need to do so at least 24 hours in advance.

You will receive a 50% refund if you cancel 24 to 48 hours in advance. There is no refund for cancellations made within 24 hours of the mock interview's scheduled start time.
Due to the nature of this service, I don’t offer refunds for sessions that have taken place.
