Commenters get noticed

Last week I asked how many times in the past 7 days you supported or encouraged someone on LinkedIn, by just clicking the like/reaction button – thanks to everyone who hit reply and played along 🤹🏽♀️
The numbers you sent me ranged from 0 to 20. Mine was in that range too.
Of course, this wasn’t a scientific survey, and I'm sure some of you are engaging in other ways too – but from my coaching, I know LinkedIn is not exactly a top priority for most professionals.
A quick click on the like button is better than nothing. But if we want a place like LinkedIn to help us build, or at least maintain, our network, it won't move the needle much.
One way to take it up just a notch is to start commenting – alongside those likes.
A short, thoughtful comment puts your name in front of people and keeps you top of mind. The person who posted in the first place will be thrilled and definitely take notice. Others in their network will see your name too, especially if you show up regularly. And LinkedIn tends to quietly reward that kind of engagement.
Barring a full-scale engagement strategy, this is one low-threshold way to start showing up – and getting noticed – more consistently and in a way that moves the needle.
I'm working on this too. Let's work on it together!
Happy networking!
Veronika
