Do you consider yourself a curious person? It's something I use in my work all the time, and I'm working on expanding its use into all areas of life.

It’s such a gentle yet powerful approach to almost anything: conversations, disagreements, the news, challenges... and yes, job searches!

Curiosity keeps us open and authentic, which is exactly the kind of energy that creates genuine connections – essential for standing out in a crowded space, and for building rapport.

When looking at job opportunities, we still need to meet minimum requirements, but past that, instead of stressing about whether you’re the "perfect fit," try curiosity: What excites me about this role? What would I bring to this team? How would my skills contribute to this organization's mission?

And in interviews, when given an opportunity to ask questions, genuine curiosity will make your questions more thoughtful and strengthen your credibility as a candidate.
